The Passage by Justin Cronin

For a first book in this series and by a New author, I'll have to say that this book was good even though it was 879 pages long. I usually cringe when it comes to really long books unless its three books in  one..lol.

Special Agent Brad Wolgast was brought in by the military to help them bring 12 prison guys on death row to them for something he was never told that they were doing. Wolgast wasn't happy when it was brought to his attention that he was to go get a 6 year old girl and bring her back to them. The girls name was Amy and she was sitting with a sister named Lacey. Lacey was trying to keep her safe but what Lacey didn't know was that her life and Amy's were going to be intertwined for many, many years.

When things at the compound goes bad. Wolgast is given the girl by the doctor who created the virus which is what's going to kill millions of people for years to come. So he decides to find a place for them to hide but then a flash happens and he dies. Amy then leaves.

The last colony or so they think is where a good amount of people were brought to when they were kids. It was done to protect them. But if they knew what was coming and whom wasn't coming back. They should be happy tell things started to happen to make the colony have problems. The Peter and a few others go to do somethings outside to find things that were needed. But Peter meets Amy who is about 14 year old. What he doesn't know is that she follows him back to the colony and things start to happen even more.

People start acting funny and its a small group including Amy and Peter all plan to leave and go looking for the truth of what really happened and started the whole thing.

Well, being that this book is so long and I enjoyed reading it a lot. I'm not telling a whole lot more. But, I'll say its worth every page of this book. I'm off to start my next book. Pick up a good book like this one. I bit you'll want to know what happens. Can't wait to read the second and I hope that its as good.

Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick

This is the third book in the Hush, Hush series and I'll have to say its quite good. Nora is kidnapped and has been gone for about 5 months. She wakes up in a cemetary with no memory of what happened or much of anything else. What she doesn't know is that she was kidnapped by the black hand. The leader of the Nephilim's. She gets taken to the hospital where her mother is called and explains to Nora what has been going on. Her mother also says that Hank and her have been dating for awhile. Which Nora isn't real happy about.

After being home for a few days she calls her friend Vee. She tries to get Vee to tell her what she's been missing so she can get some of her memories back. But Vee lies to her and later on Nora confronts her friend about it.

She also has a run in with a few fallen angels and meets Jev or formally known as Patch which she doesn't remember yet. But he saves her from almost getting herslef very hurt but, not just once but twice. After awhile Patch helps Nora remember who he is and what she ment to him as will as that her loved her. She knew deep down inside of herself that she felt the same way.

They both had one problem and that was trying to get rid of the black hand which is Hank. He had been playing mindtricks on Nora and her mother and Nora knew that she didn't trust him at all. Patch wants to kill Hank but Nora says she wants to be the one to do it. Over all they need a plan some how to be able to do that.

By the end of the book everything comes together and a few surprising things as will. Will things work out between Nora and Patch? Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the next book. I'm off now to start my next book.

Note to readers of this blog...I will be adding books to my blog now after I finish a book. It will matter how often between the new posts and the old ones because, of how fast I can read the books and finish them and I thank everyone of my followers and those that come to view my blog for your surport.

Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

I usually never do this when it comes to my reading. After reading the fifth book in this series, I had to read the last one in the Vampire academy series. Had to know what was going to happen to Rose and Dimitri.

At the end of the last book, Rose was locked up for murdering the queen. She isn't sure what's going to happen but, she knows she's didn't do it. Then, there's a huge blast outside and racket just outside her cell. Then, she sees her friends and their breaking her out of jail. She's not sure what to do, then she sees Dimitri standing at the end of the hall. He tells her to come on and she does. But she knows that she can't not help her friends prove she's not guilty. She fights off Dimitri once but, he explains that he's not going to let her just go off half cocked.

Lissa and her other friends start to do what they can to help Rose. They know that as long as she's safe they can find out the truth.

What Rose doesn't know is that Dimitri is watching her and that his feelings are coming back towards her. She had been hurt by him and doesn't want to be feeling like she had before. But she can't help it. As the days go on, things start to come in view for Rose and her friends. Rose knows that she needs to find Lissa's sitter which would give Lissa's a seat on the court. Being on the run isn't going to make it easy either.

Rose and her friends get Lissa to take the tests to become the new queen which Lissa isn't quite happy about doing but does anyways. As things get closer to finding out the truth of who killed the queen. Dimitri ends up telling Rose that he's never stopped loving her. Which shocks Rose because she had decided to move on. He said he can't take her from another guy and she knows that deep down she loves him and hasn't stopped.

I'm not going to spoil what happens. I'll just say that this book is the best book for a happy ending I've ever read. Diffenently worth 5 stars. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Enjoy a good book you never know, it might make you wish for your own happy ending.

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

This is the fifth book in the vampire Acendemy series. If you haven't read the series its worth it. If you have you'll know what I'm talking about, when I say, its good, very good.

Rose is obsessed with wanting to turn Dimitri back from being a Strigoi. Her one hope was the one person that Lissa hated most, Victor. The plan was to try and break him out of prison. With help from Lissa and her friend Eddie. They made plans to leave the court and head to the prison. Because Rose knew this might be dangerous to everyone. She needed infomation that could help her cause.

Rose was still very much in love with Dimitri but she was also involved with Adrian. She really didn't know her feelings concerning Adrian but she did know she enjoyed his company.

After getting Victor free from prison they had him contact his brother Robert who was a spirit worker to. The thing is, he surpossively had brought someone back from being a strigoi and Rose needed to know how. It turns out that Robert had told them and Lissa said she was going to try to do what needed to be done. The bad thing was that Lissa wasn't strong enough or was she.

Well, when Lissa and Christian were outside the court they were kidnapped by Dimitri and his band. It didn't take long for Rose to find out and a rescue was made. In the process Lissa and Christian had planned to do exactly what she was wanting. But what ended up happening had shocked everyone there. Lissa had pulled off the impossibly.

The bad thing is Dimitri wanted nothing to do with her and told her he didn't love her any more. Which hurt a lot. But when the queen was murdered, Roses life is about to turn for the worse.

Well, to know any more of what happened, you'll just have to read the book. I'm off to start another book. Enjoy a good book.

The strangers on Montagu street by Karen White

This the third book in the Tradd series and its as good as the others. At the end of the second book, Jack meets his daughter Nola. In the start of this book, Jack shows up at Melanie's house asking her a big favor. He wants to know wither she will take his daughter in for awhile being that their not getting along. Melanie knows that she's not sure if she wants to but, ends up telling him fine.

A few days later she's asked to go to Jack's parents store to talk to her about working where the stuff in her house should go because she was told that yet again she was going to have to move out so they can fix the foundation. While in the store Nola sees a very interesting dollhouse. But knowing Melanie she knows that there's something not right about the dollhouse. Before she knows it Nola's grandmother asks if Nola wants the doll house. Nola lights up for a few. The later on, her grandmother drops by and with her a few men and the dollhouse.

After a night with the dollhouse, Melanie starts noticing that things about that house aren't what they seem, so she asks Jack to do some searching to find out. With a little looking into it she and Jack find out that it blonged to a family that doesn't live to far from her mother's house. Mrs.Julia is an old woman and when Melanie starts to ask question about the dollhouse the lady starts yelling at them to leave her house. That just tells them that there is more going on and that Mrs. Julia is hiding things.

There has been something between her and Jack for some time. What Melanie couldn't figure tell later on was that she's in love with Jack but, she doesn't know how he really feels and she needs to hear those three words come out of his mouth, I love you.

Darker still by Leanna Rene Hieber

Another new author I haven't read before and to my surprise this book was very much to my liking. Very fast paced. It will diffenently hold you to it from the first page to the last.

Natalie Stewart was brought up in an Asylum and now she's heading home to live with her father. The only thing is, she is mute, she hasn't spoken in since she was very young and after her mothers death.

Mrs. Evelyn Northe is a very rich lady and has abtained a painting of a very handsome young man named Lord Denbury.Natalie is introduced to her and her neice Maggie. They are planning on having her dad help Mrs. Northe buy the painting and put it in the museum. But when Maggie takes Natalie to go see the painting it has like put a spell on her. He is so handsome beyond words but, something else she notices is that the person in the painting has noticed her too.

After Mrs. Northe has brought the painting to her house, Natalie is able to stand closer to it and see that she wasn't imagining what she had. The guy in the painting had moved his hand and in a few minutes of her touching the painting she ends up inside it. To her, Lord Benbury is even more handsome then what she saw from where she stood. They began to talk and she found out that he was cursed and put in the painting. Natalie wants to some how help him out. So she talks to Mrs. Northe who also says she will help if she can.

Once the painting is moved to the museum, Natalie is given keys so she can make as many trips to see him. After spending time with Lord Denbury he tells her to start calling him Jonathon. To both of their surprise they fall in love and Natalie knows that she needs to take that curse off of him. So, with planning and Mrs. Northe's help they will try and trap the devil that has done this.

The book is quite and diffenently worth reading. You'll have to pick it up to read what happens in the end. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to pick up a good book and read it, like maybe this one.

Secrets to the grave by Tami Hoag

Another new author to add to my books I've read now. I will say this, this book is a grab you by your shirt tails and hold you tell you have to know how it ends. Marissa is brutely murdered in her home and her daughter Haley is almost choked to death but survives.

Tony Mendez is one of the cops on the case. With the help of Vince Leone and his wife Anne they will try and solve the case. Many people in the story have had affairs with Marissa, The Bordain's are a very powerful family in the Oak nowl area and the father Bruce and his son are two that are looked at.

Zahn Zander seemed like a very strange man to Vince when he talked to him. Zahn was the person that found Marissa and seemed very, very upset about the whole thing. But Vince has a problem the guy seems to be crazy or something. But when Vince tries to confront him he attacks Vince.

Dennis Farman is a very troubled kid and Anne has been trying to help him. But, he's fighting her every step of the way. He thinks of ways to hurt her and in the long run he does try too.

Anne has been trying to help Haley remember what had happened to her mother even though the little girl is only 4 years old. The only thing she says is bad daddy.

Gina is Marissa's best friend and when the cops go to talk to her and shows her a picture of what happened to Marissa. She ended up getting upset then she ends up disappearing and not even the cops know what happened.

Little dirty secrets start to come out as the cops look into people they think that could have killed Marissa. But by the end of the book you'll be surprised of who it really was. There's so many turns and twists in this book and ever damn page you read makes you want to continue reading it.

I love a good page turner and this one I'll give 5 stars for sure too. Its hard to tell to much of this story without giving some of the things away.

Well, I'm off to start another book. I hope you'll go and pick up this book if you haven't read it.

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

This is the first book written by this author and its written like it is narrator telling the story. Which makes the story seem autobiographical.

The narrator is a guy and he had been doing drugs and driving when he lost comtrol of the car and wrecked. The car caught on fire and burned him pretty badly. He at first thought he was going to die. He was in pain and going through surgery after surgery. As time went on, he had a few visitors. One visitor was Marianne Engel, she was a patient in the hospital and how she even knew he was there was surprising. She started to tell him stories about a past life him and her had.

To him she seemed crazy and was having problems believing certain things she was saying. After she left the hospital she would still visit him. When he was well enough she would bring him huge amounts of food and continue to tell him stories. He was having a hard time trying to figure her out. Also as time went by, she wouldn't come for long periods of time saying she was working. She carved Gargoyles out of stone. She tried to get him to understand that it was like they were calling to him, which just made him think she was even crazier then she seemed.

The narrator was also trying to deal with himself. He wasn't ever going to be the same person he was and many things about him was different. One he could never have sex. He could feel the desire of it but, that was it. Towards the end of the book things start to come together and he finally tells Marianne that he loves her. But, things in thier life will never be quite normal.

Over all, this book was nothing like I've ever read before. It starts fast and continues on with in a pace where you need to know what happens next. It started to grab me from the gut and contintues tell I finished it. Its worth reading if you haven't. Pick it up you might be surprised.

Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to try something different or an author that might just surprise you in the long run.

Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children by Ransom Riggs

I will say for a first book by this author, it was will worth reading. Its a mix of photographs and very well put together story telling. If I was to give this book a rating it would be a high number on my part.

When Jacob Portman was young he used to listen to his grandfather tell him stories about people and young kids that he knew. The stories seemed to be fantasies more then anything. As Jacob grew older he started to have a hard time believing what his grandfather was telling him.His grandfather would show him pictures but, still Jacob wasn't sure what to believe. Then, one night his grandfather started to talk nonsense. He went to find his grandfather only to find him laying on the ground dead. Out of the corner os Jacob's eye he saw the monster that his grandfather talked about or thought he did.

Because of the things going on with Jacob, both of his parents decided it was time for him to see an therapist. So they sent him to see Dr. Galon. Jacob began to tell Dr. Galon the stories and the dreams he was having. Finally, Dr. Galon told Jacob that it wouldn't be a bad idea if he took a trip to find out the truth for himself. So, Jacob and his father desided to take that trip together.

Where they ended up at, was an island. After a day or so, Jacob decided to see if he can find the house that his grandfather talked about and to see if he could find anything more about the kids and this Miss Peregrine was. With his looking around he found a chest and he needed to unlock it. After sending it sailing downwards and ending up in the basement he went down there and found more and more pictures. Some time had gone by and he heard noices of children's footsteps and that's when he met Emma.

Following the girl he didn't know that it would lead to some place that he never knew existed. That's when he met Miss Peregrine and the rest of the peculiar children that lived there. Each child had a different thing they could do and Emma could make fireballs with her hands.

As the story went on, Jacob learned a lot about what they were and things he wasn't sure he could explain to his father. when things started to happen and Jacob needed to figure out how to help them the story moved very fast. I'll say this, if you haven't read this book, pick it up and read it. Its very worth it. I can't tell you what happens to Jacob or those children but, thier life as they knew it changes. They needed to save their Miss Peregrine but, in the end they need to save thier way of life too.

Pick up the book, you'll be quite happy you did. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to read a good book, you'll be glad you did.

Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain

This is the second book to Heartsick. I had thought that the first book was good but, this one is much better. Many things going on.

Archie Sheridan is a detictive in the Portland police force and is addicted to pain killers. Ever since his experience with Gretchen the beauty killer he hasn't been the same. He can't get her out of his head and keeps having sexual fantasies about her and him together. He keeps telling himself that its wrong but he can't seem to help it.

There had been a murder in Forest park and Archie and his partner Henry are there. Archie hasn't been back to work for awhile and it seems like he needs to do something else to keep his mind else where. Him and Henry are checking everything about the body.

Susan is a reporter for the newspaper and has been the one to report the story on Archie. She's been trying to get a story out about the Senator but her head guy doesn't want it to go out. Later on she finds out that someone is trying to stop the story all together and there is only one thing for her to do and that's keep pushing.

Gretchen escapes from prison and its only Archie that can bring her back in or so he thinks. Henry and a few other cops decides to put Archie and his wife Debbie in protective custedy. Problem is, Archie has a plan and with Gretchen having his phone number as will as watching him when she can, he's got to get it to come together.

Quite a few things happening in this book. You'll have to read to find out what happens. I'll just tell you that its good. Does Archie get his girl or does she get away? Does Susan get her story in the paper? Everything is answered in the end and I'm not telling the ending.

Well, I'm off to read my next book. Read a good book like this one. You might be surprised how it ends.

Fragile by Lisa Unger

Another new author to add to my list of books read. This book was quite good. Murder, mystery, kidnapping, rape, all the things a good story should be.
Jones Cooper, cop, father and husband, lives in the hollow's where people are really close. Small town life has never been more different to some then the big city was to him. But Jones was keeping something secret.A girl died and he was there. But there was also two others. The whole thing has made jones have problems in his own life.
Rick is Jones son and has been in love with Charlene a girl that Jones never thought was good enough for his son. Then, one day she ran away from home and everything from there on went to hell. Maggie is Rick's mother and a therpist and has been trying to understand her son as will. Too many things about her son she hasn't really been able to figure out.
Maggie has been seeing Marshall and trying to help him. But that day while he was there, something had changed. Because of Marshall's father Travis, things with him was very strange. He left her office and from then on things with him went down hill. Her wanting to help other out just made her sad.
With Charlene missing and Rick upset. Jones was always busy with police business. She began to worry more and more about Marshall. What she doesn't know is that Marshall is the reason why Charlene is missing. She had gotten ahold of him to ask him to help her. What she didn't know was that things for her were going to become really bad.
The farther into the story you find out many things that happen and why Jones is having problems. The truth of everything comes out. Maggie is a big part of the reason that it does. You'll just have to read the book. You'd enjoy it. Its worth it.
Well, I'm off to start my next book. Pick up a good book and enjoy it. This one I'd say is a good book.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

This is the first book in a new series. It has surprised me, drawn me in and held me to every page as I read it.
Ethan Wate is a boy in the small town of Gatlin. He has always thought about getting out. Going some where other then the place where he's lived his short life so far. But something else was going on, he was having dreams about a girl and he kept trying to hang onto her but, she kept slipping away.
Lena Duchannes is a 15 year old girl that came to live with her uncle. She was wanting a life that was normal but she knew she wasn't normal. She was a caster and a very special one. She was alos the girl that was having the same dreams that Ethan was. What neither one of them new, was that they were connected. What she also didn't know was that she was going to fall in love with Ethan and things in their life was going to get difficult.
Macon is Lena's uncle and in her family people were always looked at as different and judged by other in the town. Macon was there to protect Lena from herself and others that could hurt her. What he didn't realize was that Ethan's and Lena's relationship was going to change things that was to come.
Many times certain people in Lena's family tried to do things to hurt her. Many times Lena was scared she would become a dark caster like some of her family had become. By the end of this book you will find out what really happens. It will draw you in and hold your interest. Read the book, becuase I'm not telling you the ending. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. But not yet.
Well, I'm off to start my next book now. Remember to enjoy a good book like this one.

Definitely dead by Charlaine harris

This is the sixth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Not exactly the best one so far. But it was an interesting read. Many things going on too.
After what happened with the new pack leader Sookie and Alcide were through, her and Bill were no more as will. She didn't know where her and Erik stood either. She didn't have the best of luck when it came to men of any kind. But what surprised her was when Quinn showed up at her house. He was handsome for a weretiger. She did feel attracted to him for some reason. When he asked her out she said yes. They were going to a play in town.
When it comes to Sookie and things going on, it never seemed to surprise her when her and Quinn got attacked. What she didn't know was if it was ment for her or Quinn but it was done for a reason for sure.
When the queen of Louisiana envited her to a spring party after the queen had gotten married she was surprised as will. She was to go and clean out her cousins apartment after she'd been killed. Hadley wasn't really much to Sookie but family. Because she was family it was Sookie's obligation to do so.
Amelia is a witch and also was Hadley's manager. When Sookie came to the apartment Amelia seemed very nice but, a little strange at first. Something about her though made Sookie like her right off the bat.
Many things end up happening in the book. Sookie and Quinn go to the party and things happen there. Bill confesses that he really does love her which just makes Sookie pissed off.
If you want to know how the book ends and the many different things that happen. Pick up the book. Its not to bad but, no five star book. Well, I'm off to start my next book. Remember to read a good book and share it with someone else that might enjoy it as well.
