A temptation of angels by Michelle Zink

Helen was woken up out of a dead sleep because of noise going on in her house. Her mom comes running into the room and tells her to get up and that its time for her to go hide. Helen doesn't understand. Her mom says there's a hiding place right over here. Her mom hits a spot in the wall and there's a secret passage there. Her mom tells her that there's stairs not far from where she's going to be sitting and that she needs to not make any noise at all.

Helen climbs in. Her mom tells her that she will need to go to the address on the piece of paper she hands her. Helen is scared but, she knows that she doesn't have much choice. She needs to stay alive. She can hear her mom close up the hiding place and the noises of men coming into her room. She sits as still as she can.

It gets quiet and then, Helen smells smoke. She knows that she needs to get out now. Its very dark and she feels around tell she can feel for the landing to the stairs that her mom said was there. She slowly moves down each step tell she hits the bottom. Now she has to find the exit. The smoke was getting heavy around her. She needed to get out before the house fill down on her.

Once out and down the road, she pulled the paper out and read the address on it. Where she needed to go wasn't that far from her. Glancing back once she could see the house burning. She began to walk to where she needed to go.

It was a fairly big house and she knocked on the door. A young man answered the door and let her in. She followed him into the library. There was another guy sitting behind a desk. He asked who she was and she told them that her name was Helen. The guys introduced themselves as Darius and Griffin. She explained what happened and said she was told to come here. It was getting late and Darius told Griffin to take her to one of the rooms upstairs and they would talk more in the morning.

The guys said they needed to go see Galizur. Helen wanted to come with. At first the guys didn't think it would be a good idea. But Helen was going to follow them anyways. Galizur's place was hidden some and the guys knew she had followed them. They were let in by Anna and taken through a few more rooms. Tell they were in a bigger room and a guy was working at a table.

Galizur said hello Helen and then told Anna to go make some tea. When the tea came, they all went and sat down in some chairs. Galizur explained to Helen and the guys that Many keepers have been getting killed because someone is wanting the key to the library. Helen wasn't sure what it was all about she just wasn't happy the her parents had to die. Galizur told Helen to follow him that he had a box for her. Once she got the box and opened it. There was all kinds of things from her dad in there and money.

On the way back, they ran into some nasty creatures and the guy fought them off. Once in the house the guys explained that demons can appear out of lights. After some time, Darius said they needed to find the guy that's been causing all of the keepers death.

Well, you'll have to read the book to find out what happens in the end. Do the guys and Helen finally become safe? Do they find the person or people that have been killing the keepers? Many questions are answered and the ending is good.

Innocence by Dean Koontz

When Addison Goodheart was born the woman that was there wanted to kill him. He looked different then other babies. His mom stopped that but, she had  a hard time dealing with him. By the time he was eight years old she finally told him he needed to get out. He at first didn't understand but, finally ended up staying in the woods around the cabin his mom lived in.

When his mom killed herself, he had no choice but to leave and find some other place to live and go. He walked and walked tell he came to a church that was having a picnic outside. He hadn't eaten in awhile and decided to steal some food. When the pastor saw him and what he looked like, He became angry and wanted to hurt Addison. Addison ran fast to get out of there.

Addison caught a ride on a flat bed truck and made it into the city. He'd only been in the city for a few hours when he met the guy he would call father for the next 10 years or so. Father taught him how to live away from others so he would be safe.

One night they were walking around with their faces covered. When a cop car with two cops in it, stopped them. Father did what he knew he needed to do to protect Addison. He uncovered his face and soon as the cops saw his face the cop pulled his gun and shot him. Addison had climbed under the nearest car.

After fathers death, Addison had been alone for awhile. He made his way to the library. He always went there late in the evenings to read. But that night he saw a young girl running away from some guy that probably worked there. She faked him out and had made him think she took off down the street but, she had come back and hid out.

Gwyneth was about 18 and wore make-up like goths do. She wanted to hide what she really looked like. Addison didn't know what to think. He couldn't let her look at him and she told him she didn't like to be touched. She also told him that the guy that was chasing her, his name is Telford. She just said he's a creap and will be getting his soon enough.

Telford wanted to kill her but, before that he wanted to rape her. Addison really didn't know what to think but, he knew the guy was evil.

Well, you'll have to read the book to find out what happens. I'll just say this, its an ending that you won't believe but, its also different.

City of bones by Cassandra Clare

This is the first book in the mortal instruments series. Clary and Simon get into a club in town. Their plan is to dance and have fun. But Clary's life is about to change like she hasn't known before. The club that they were in had some strange looking people that come to it. She'd been watching this boy with blue hair for a little while. He then noticed a girl all in white. She was quite stunning. Clary moved through the crowd. Simon told her he was going to go get something to drink. Clary's attention was some where else. She followed the boy and he was heading straight over to where the girl was heading.

Clary noticed that the girl wasn't alone there were two guys with her. She could see everything that was going on. What she didn't expect was what was going to happen next. The guy with the blond hair used some kind of sword and killed the boy with the blue hair with it. She screamed and the guy looked right at her. Simon had then, found her and asked her what was going on. She told Simon. After Simon got the guard and they didn't find anything, they left. Clary and Simon caught a cab back to her house.

The next morning her mom was a little upset with her. She wanted to speak with her. Luke was there because they brought in art supplies. Simon had called Clary to say he was heading over there and was wondering about going to see his friends poetry reading at the coffee house. She was just about to walk out the door when her mom asked if she'd not go. Just then, the door opened and Simon walked in, scaring her mom to death.

She left with Simon, not thinking that this would be the last time she would see her mom in awhile. At the coffee house she saw that guy she saw at the club, the one that killed that boy. She was so bothered by what she had seen that she left the coffee house to speak to him.

He was a little rude and ached like he didn't seem to care about what she was wanting to know. He just kept saying that there were things she just didn't want to know about. Clary told him that she could see everything that happened.

Clary found out what demons were because one tried to kill her. She found out that there were shadowhunters that killed demons to protect the humans that lived in this world. She found out so many things that it could have been more then she could have taken. But she dealt with things one thing at a time.

She meets Alec and Isabelle. Finds out the boys name is Jace. Meets Hodge's who runs the place they were staying at. Finds out about Valetine and that he wants the mortal cup. By the end of the book you learn that Valentine is Clary's dad and Jace's dad. Which means they are brother and sister.

But over all, I don't want to give to much away because you will have to get the book and read it.
And by the way, they did make it into a movie but, I'll say this, the book isn't anything like the movie. They also made a series for television. I've always figured that books are better then movie and this one meets that greatly.

The 5th wave by Rick Yancey

This is a very interesting story. Its the first book in the series. Its about aliens coming to the planet and killing millions of people.

Cassie, her brother Sammy and dad are all living in the same house for now. Their father is trying to take care of their mother but, she's dying. Cassie knows that's it isn't going to be much longer and then they'll have to figure out what they are going to do. Their dad digs a hole and put their mother into it. They say good bye.

Within 24 hours they leave and find this camp to stay in. There are a bunch of other people there and their kids. After being there for a few weeks, these army people show up. They tell us that all the kids are going on the yellow buses. Cassie doesn't like it. She doesn't want to say good bye to her brother but, she has no choice.

Something inside of Cassie tells her that something isn't right. She tells one of the soldiers that she needs to find this other kid. After they leave to hike through the woods, Cassie decides she's going to kill the soldier. Just after she shoots the soldier all hell brakes out. She needs to think fast. As soon as a green glow starts she dives into a hole and waits it out.

Cassie knows that her dad is dead along with everyone else in the camp. She is now by herself. She walks a ways tell she finds a store she can get camping stuff from. She goes deep into the woods and stays there. What she doesn't know is that she is being watched.

Sammy finds out that the place he's taken too is an army base. They are turning the kinds into soldiers for some reason. What he doesn't know is that they are given implants that could kill them.

Cassie ends up trying to find a place to stay warm and ends up getting shot in the leg. The next thing she knows is that she's in a bed and her leg is bandaged. When she looks around and sees a good looking guy looking at her. She doesn't know him and isn't quite sure she can trust him. As time goes by, she does find out the truth about him.

I'm not going to give away much more about the story. They did make the book into a movie. But I'll just say this, its a pretty good read.

Note: Will I"m starting to read some more now. I'll be working on finishing up series that I've started and hadn't finished. Plus, will be adding new books to my blog here. Hope you stick around and read what books are added. I'm on my way to getting to 200 books.

Deadline by Sandra Brown

This book was very good. It was about lies that you tell yourself and sometimes even get away with. Its about murder and getting revenge. This author is one of my favorites to read.

Dawson Scott is a reporter for a magazine. He spent time over seas in the war zone. He came back home with some scares of his own. Gary Headly is an FBI agent and had been after Carl Wingert for the last 40 years. He told Dawson about all that and asked if he'd been willing to take a trip for a trial that was going on. What Dawson didn't expect was what was going to happen when He first see's Amelia Wesson. If you ever thought lusting after someone wasn't possible, it is And he did.

Dawson got a little close to Amelia then he wanted to at first. There was a few other things going on that made him wonder what was really going on. Carl is a very evil man. He treated his friends badly and turned his son into an evil person too.

Dawson had some secrets that he didn't want to share with anyone but, Amelia had this way about her that got him to open up to her. What he hid from himself she found a way to get it out of him. He would keep trying to push her away and she wouldn't let him. I think she was falling in love with him.

By the end of the book you find out all the truth about everything. Its very much worth reading.
